These Tropical Pina Colada shots are a chilled and delicious way to escape to the tropics! The toasted coconut rims and pineapple wedge compliment the coconut rum and pineapple schnapps in the drink. It's easily adapted to a full cocktail. Directions in the notes!
Ingredients
- 1 ½ ounces Coconut Rum
- 1 ounce Captain Morgan Tropical Rum Punch
- 1 ounce Pinapple Schnapps
- ½ oz Grenadine
- GARNISH:
- Toasted coconut for rim, small pineapple wedge
- Look in the notes below for instructions to make these shots into cocktails.
Instructions
- Wet the rims of two large shot glasses and dip them in a shallow dish with toasted coconut. Place in the freezer while you prepare the rest of the drink.
- In a container mix together the tropical rum punch and the grenadine. Set aside.
- In an ice-filled cocktail shaker add the coconut rum and the pineapple schnapps.
- Shake to combine.
- Remove the glasses from the freezer and evenly strain the coconut rum and pineapple schnapps into the glasses.
- Rinse out the shaker and dry. Refill with ice.
- Pour the other mixture of rum punch and grenadine into the shaker.
- Using a small spoon with the back facing upwards and resting against the inside of the shot glass, slowly pour half the mixture over the back of the spoon into each glass to create an even layer on top.
- Garnish with a pineapple wedge

- In a container mix together the tropical rum punch and the grenadine. Set aside.

- Pour the other mixture of rum punch and grenadine into the shaker.
- Using a small spoon with the back facing upwards and resting against the inside of the glass, slowly pour half the mixture over the back of the spoon into each glass to create an even layer on top.

3. In a blender, add 4 ounces of pineapple juice or coconut water (or a combination of both) into the blender.

5. Fill the blender halfway with ice. Blend until you reach the consistency for a slushy.
6. Remove the glasses from the freezer and pour in the blender contents.
7. Rinse out the shaker and dry. Refill with ice.
8. Pour the other mixture of rum punch and grenadine into the shaker.
9. Using a small spoon with the back facing upwards and resting against the inside of the glass, slowly pour half the mixture over the back of the spoon into each glass to create an even layer on top.
