Substitution Options
1. Pineapple Juice Substitutions
- Mango Juice: For a slightly sweeter, tropical flavor. The color will be similar, and it still pairs well with blue curaçao.
- Orange Juice: Adds a bit more tartness but keeps the citrus flavor. Use in the same amount.
- Passion Fruit Juice: Another tropical option that will change the taste a bit but adds a unique twist.
2. Blue Curaçao Substitutions
- Triple Sec: If you want the orange flavor without the blue color, use triple sec in the same amount.
- Orange Juice + Blue Food Coloring: If you need a non-alcoholic substitute, mix orange juice with a drop or two of blue food coloring.
- Blue Raspberry Syrup (non-alcoholic): This adds a fruity flavor and the blue color, perfect for a mocktail version.
3. Sprite Substitutions
- Club Soda or Sparkling Water: For a less sweet option that still provides fizz.
- Ginger Ale: Adds a mild ginger flavor that complements the citrus in the curaçao.
- Lemon-Lime Soda (any brand): Any other lemon-lime soda can work if Sprite isn’t available.
4. Ice Substitutions
- Crushed Ice or Ice Cubes: Use whichever form you prefer.
- Frozen Fruit Cubes (Pineapple or Mango): For a fun twist, freeze small cubes of pineapple or mango to use as “ice” that doesn’t dilute the drink.
Serving Tips
Want to make your Arctic Glow Drop a little bit different from last time? Here are some easy ways to dress it up:
- Frosted or Chilled Glass: For that icy look, chill your glass in the freezer before you start. A frosted glass keeps it feeling cold and fresh, adding to the arctic vibe.
- Make It Slushy: If you’re in the mood for something icy, try a slushy version! Blend the ingredients with ice for a thick, frosty texture. Add a small splash of Sprite on top to keep a bit of fizz.
- Winter-Themed Rims:
- White Sugar Rim: Dip the rim of your glass in lemon juice or water, then roll it in white sanding sugar for a frosty, snowy look.
- Crushed Peppermint: For a wintery twist, rim the glass with crushed peppermint candies. It adds a cool minty edge that surprisingly complements the citrusy flavors.
- Edible Glitter: A light dusting of edible white or silver glitter on the rim makes the drink sparkle, giving it a magical, snowy effect.
- Icing Sugar & Sparkling Sugar Mix: Combine powdered sugar with a bit of white or light blue sparkling sugar for a “snow on the rim” look that’s both frosty and fun.
The Flavor Profile
The Arctic Glow Drop has a light, tropical flavor with a hint of citrus from the blue curaçao. The pineapple adds a sweet, refreshing taste, and the Sprite gives it a little fizz without overpowering the drink.
Whether you’re serving this for a holiday gathering or a summer get-together, the Arctic Glow Drop is versatile enough to fit right in. It’s easy to make, looks impressive, and tastes great—what more could you want in a cocktail?

Arctic Glow Drop
The Arctic Glow Drop is a vibrant, layered cocktail that combines tropical flavors with a wintry twist. Made with pineapple juice, blue curaçao, and a splash of Sprite, this drink has a beautiful gradient and refreshing taste.
Ingredients
- 4 oz pineapple juice
- 2 oz blue curaçao
- 1 oz Sprite (or adjust to taste for a lighter fizz)
- Ice
Instructions
- Fill a shaker with ½ cup of ice and add the pineapple juice.
- Strain the pineapple juice into a cocktail glass, filling it about halfway.
- Add a splash of Sprite on top for light fizz.
- Rinse the shaker and add fresh ice.
- Pour in the blue curaçao over the back of a bar spoon very slowly into the cocktail glass, allowing it to float on top for a layered effect.
Notes
1. Pour slowly. Especially with the blue curaçao, slowly pour it over the back of a spoon to help it float on top of the pineapple juice. This method will help create the layers that make this drink so pretty. The slower you pour, the cleaner the layers will be.
2. For a non-alcoholic version, replace the blue curaçao with blue raspberry syrup or a splash of blue food coloring mixed with orange juice. It keeps the look and flavor close without the alcohol.
3. Chill your glasses in the freezer before serving for a frosty effect that makes the drink even more prettier! (Plus, chilling the glass helps keep the drink colder for longer.)
