Whip Up These Yummy Instant Pot BBQ Sausages & Peppers Tonight!!
This sausages and peppers supper is one of the quickest meals to make when you’re rushing around trying to get everything done during the week. But even better than that, follow the directions and make this a freezer meal so now it cuts down your effort!! DINNER IS EASY PEASY!!
Which Kind Of Sausages Can I Use For This Dish?
So there’s a lot of different sausages you can use. You would want to pick those with a natural casing. You can use spicier ones that I’ve used today, but because some people have a sensitivity to spicier foods, I kept things on the mild side.
Heck, if you like really spicy, feel free to use spicy Italian sausage or even chorizo! But you can also go even milder than an Italian sausage, and use bratwursts if you prefer.
Directions For How To Assemble The Instant Pot BBQ Sausages & Peppers Freezer Meal:
1. In a large bowl, combine the cut up sausages. Add the sliced onions to the bowl as well as the extra Italian seasoning. Mix all ingredients together, and transfer to an 8 x 7-inch freezer bag. Seal the bag removing as much air as possible.
2. Using a sharp knife, carefully slice the peppers into thin slices. Place into another 8 x 7 freezer bag. Seal the bag.
3. Group together all the smaller freezer bags and place into a larger gallon-sized freezer bag. Add the printed recipe into the bag as well for reference.
4. Freeze for up to 3 months.
Print the recipe, add it to the freezer bag and you will be all set when it’s time to cook it! You will thank yourself later. 🙂

Myron Miland says
Hi, in the slow cooker recipe it says to add the cooking liquid to the pot. Where do I get this magical cooking liquid? What’s in this liquid??
Thanks
Joanne says
Hi Myron! If you scroll through the post to the bottom of the page, you’ll see the recipe card there with all the information you need for making this recipe. In the ingredients listed for this recipe, you’ll see that the cooking liquid is chicken broth. That being said, if you don’t have chicken broth, vegetable broth or even water will do. You need 1 cup of liquid to operate the Instant Pot during pressure cooking. This recipe is for pressure cooking, not slow cooking. I hope this helps, and thanks so much for commenting!

Assuming it should read 2 cup of bbq sauce?
Joanne says
Hi Mar, – yes. The ‘c’ typically stands for a cup (or 250 ml) measurement! Have a great day!
